Philosophy:
“As your trainer, my focus is to give you the knowledge and skills to live a healthy lifestyle. As a former 300 pound couch potato, I understand the importance of proper nutrition and a balanced exercise program. Let me teach you how to exercise with a purpose and obtain the maximum from every workout in the least amount of time. I will be there to encourage and motivate you every step of the way.”
I am certified as a personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the National Council of Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT). I am able to evaluate the current fitness level of a client and recommend improvement methods. I have a wide variety of exercises at my disposal, so that I can devise a plan to meet any fitness goal. I am also well versed in dealing with injuries and medical conditions, and capable of substituting exercises for injured or impaired clients so that working out does not exacerbate any medical conditions or injuries.
I am certified through NCCPT as a Weight Management Specialist. I have helped many clients develop a diet that will facilitate meeting their goals. As a personal trainer I help my clients define their personal weight loss and fitness goals and then work with them to help them achieve these goals. I select exercises to put into a personalized fitness routine for each client. I work with my clients to ensure that the client performs the exercises correctly, in order to avoid injury. I have exceptional interpersonal skills which help me to keep my clients motivated and have them work out consistently. When it comes to "weight loss", I have walked the walk losing over 150 pounds myself. I am able to communicate clearly and empathetically with clients so that they can work through any weight loss challenge in a positive way. I am committed to help as many people that I can to overcome obesity, volunteering my time to educate and train young women and teens.
